Sadolin Superdec

What Is Sadolin Superdec?

Sadolin Superdec Satin is a high-performance, water-based opaque wood protection that does more than just protect wood. Ideal for exterior timber, weathered plastics, steel, cladding, concrete, masonry, as well as exterior doors and windows, it transforms and revitalises a range of surfaces with a rich, durable finish.

Thanks to its flexible formulation, Sadolin Superdec resists cracking, peeling and flaking, even on weathered or uneven surfaces. It’s self-priming and works as its own undercoat too—saving you time and effort, especially when working on new or previously coated surfaces.

Key Benefits

Long-lasting protection
Its flexible, water-based formula helps resist cracking, peeling and flaking — so your surfaces stay looking good for longer, even in tough weather conditions.

Multi-surface versatility
It’s not just for wood! You can use it on exterior wood, weathered plastic, steel, cladding, concrete, masonry, and exterior doors and windows — perfect for giving all kinds of outdoor surfaces a fresh new look.

Self-priming convenience
No need for a separate primer or undercoat in most cases, which saves time, effort and money.

Fast drying
Touch dry in just 2–4 hours, so you can get on with your project without waiting around.

Great coverage
A little goes a long way, covering roughly 10–15 square metres per litre.

Adds colour and character
Transforms plain or tired-looking surfaces with beautiful, durable colour — whether you’re freshening up old wood or adding colour to brand new surfaces.

Ideal for tricky areas
Especially good for protecting vulnerable spots like end grains, tops and bottoms of doors, and window sills.

How to Apply for Best Results

1. Preparation is key

  • Clean the surface to remove dirt, grease, mould and any loose paint or stain.

  • Sand smooth where needed; new timber may need light sanding to help adhesion.

2. Prime bare or resinous wood

  • On bare softwoods and hardwoods, use a primer for best adhesion and stain blocking.

3. Stir well and apply evenly

  • Use a good quality synthetic brush or roller.

  • Apply in the direction of the grain.

4. Build up coats

  • Generally, two full coats of Superdec are recommended (after primer if needed).

  • Don’t paint in direct strong sunlight or if rain is expected.
